Alpine Canada – Mont-Tremblant, QC (March 25, 2017) – The sun and the crowds came out in Mont-Tremblant (QC) for the first day of the Canadian Championships. Calgary’s Trevor Philp went into today’s giant slalom race as the defending champion. After finishing the first run 0.25 seconds back from Dustin Cook’s lead-time, Philp had some ground to make up in the second run. The course conditions held up and Philp made a move in the second run to claim the giant slalom Canadian Champion title for the second year in a row.

Cook slipped back one spot after setting the pace in the first run, finishing the day in second-place. Joining Philp and Cook on the podium was Toronto’s Phil Brown who held third-place after the first and second run.
