New Educational Resources Released by Ottawa Sport Council

Ottawa Sport Council - The Ottawa Sport Council is proud to release its newest online resources, developed with funding from the Ontario Ministry of Tourism Culture and Sport’s (MTCS) Ontario Sport and Recreation Community Fund (OSRCF). These resources include:

1.     2018 Spring Webinar Series:

·     Financial Management Best Practices for Community Sport Organizations;

·     Sport for Development- Using Sport to Address Community Issues;

·     From Vision to Action, Creating your Strategic Blueprint for Success

2.     Videos summarizing insight from our most recent Sport Summit – Sport for All in Ottawa: Creating a Culture of Inclusion. The videos capture this valuable information session hosted in April 2018.

As an organization that provides leadership to the local sport community, the Ottawa Sport Council works to provide accessible, pertinent educational resources. Our webinars provide a relevant online resource, helping stakeholders add value to their respective sport programs by making them more inclusive, innovative, ethical and respectful. Our videos allow us to bring even more content to our audience, ensuring the values and teachings shared at our Sport Summits aren’t lost to those who couldn’t attend.

Spring Webinar Series:

Financial Management Best Practices for Community Sport Organizations provides a discussion on financial management best practices for community sport organizations including financial statement fundamentals, items of importance for Board Members, and recommended internal controls and processes.

Sport for Development- Using Sport to Address Community Issues discusses the rationale for using sport to address social issues and provides examples of programs across Canada which are using sport for social change.

From Vision to Action, Creating your Strategic Blueprint for Success discusses the methodology of the strategic process and how to design a robust plan that has a vision, strategies, actions and tactics with accountability.
