Last day to register at the regular rate for the 2017 Sport for Life Canadian Summit!

Sport for Life Society - Today is the last day to register for the 2017 Sport for Life Canadian Summit at the regular rate! 

The Summit takes place Tuesday, January 24 to Thursday, January 26 at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec. Here are some reasons you should attend:

THREE GREAT KEYNOTES

  • During her speed skating career, Catriona Le May Doan became the first Canadian to defend Olympic gold, and broke several world records and held the 500m world record for nearly a decade. Hear her discuss excellence, both in sport and at the community level.
  • Danièle Sauvageau has taken part in multiple Olympic Games, as women's hockey coach, general manager and coaching consultant. She played a key role in her team's wins in seven consecutive world championships, and in the gold medal they won at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. Hear her story of nurturing excellence.
  • JD Miller, businessman and president of B2ten - a privately funded endeavor that has helped select Canadian athletes train and prepare without limitation to deliver several dozen Olympic medals for Canada over the past seven years - will examine various elements that underpin organizational performance and success in the sport and physical literacy sector.

PRESENTATIONS AND WORKSHOPS

On Wednesday and Thursday delegates will have their choice of more than 70 presentations delivered by over 90 experts that all speak to the Summit theme of Nurturing Excellence.

On Tuesday, additional workshops will be available on such topics as the Aboriginal Long-Term Participant Development Pathway, autism in sport and community recreation, nurturing excellence for girls, and periodization.

NHL GAME

Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals take on the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday evening. Delegates can purchase discounted tickets through the Summit registration page, and a bus will take attendees to and from the game.

NETWORKING AND SOCIALIZING

Throughout the remainder of the Summit, there will be networking breaks and opportunities to interact. On Wednesday evening, appetizers and a cash bar will be available to delegates prior to the town hall session in which experts and attendees alike will debate trending topics and contentious issues around sport, physical literacy, and physical activity.
