Football Canada – Ottawa, ON (August 16, 2017) –  On Wednesday, Football Canada announced a 40 player all-star roster which was selected from a group of talented players that participated in last month’s Football Canada under-16 East Challenge in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

While the chosen players receive acknowledgement of their performance at the tournament, they are also extended invitations to represent Canada in the 2018 International Bowl.  Details including dates and location will be announced at a later date.

Highlighting the East Challenge All-Star team are Ontario’s Brendan Barrow, Nova Scotia’s Logan Taylor and Ontario’s Jaylen Smith who were previously respectively named Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams tournament MVPs in Wolfville.

“The under-16 East Challenge signifies the start of a player’s pathway towards the national team,” commented Aaron Geisler, Football Canada’s Manager of Development. “At the tournament, we witnessed true parity as all four teams were highly competitive throughout the week in Wolfville.”

“The competitive excellence displayed at the East Challenge made the task of choosing all-stars extremely difficult.  Being chosen as an all-star is a significant honour and players should be proud of their accomplishment.”
