Ottawa Sport Council – The Speakers and Agenda have been finalized for Grants Demystified – How to Create a Winning Application – the fifth Ottawa Sport Summit on November 29, 2017 at the Ben Franklin Place.

Are you involved in Ottawa’s club sport scene? Have you ever submitted a grant application for funding for your sport programs?

73% of sport organizations across Canada have no paid staff, and rely on the good will of volunteers to provide their programs to their clubs. These volunteers are usually responsible for preparing the grant applications which organizations depend upon to secure funding. So how can we help volunteers and other stakeholders create compelling, efficient, professional applications that will successfully secure a grant?

Join us at our 2017 Fall Ottawa Sport Summit where we will give attendees the chance to learn from grant providers about how to create a winning application.  We will also provide participants with the opportunity to collaborate with peers, gaining greater insight into the topic by learning from the successes and failures of others that are working to enhance our local sport community.

Event Details:

Summit speakers will include

  • Derek Johnson, President of Face Value Communications Inc.;
  • Lori Bain, Regional Advisor, Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration; Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport;
  • Doug Gore, Strategy Lead for Active People Action Area, Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).
  • Kevin Wherry; Manager, Parks and Facilities Planning, City of Ottawa

Presentations will highlight the grant offerings available to community sport organizations and will provide a window into best practices in grant development from our expert panel.

Grants Demystified – How to Create a Winning Application will be hosted by Julien Leblanc, President of Blueprint Management Consultants North America.

The Ottawa Sport Council thanks the Ontario Government for its generous support through the Ontario Sport and Recreation Communities Fund, of this Sport Summit.
