Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance – There may be a new look to the Sport Events Congress (#SEC17) this year – but the outstanding professional development, dynamic atmosphere and dazzling social events are all still on the schedule!

Along with the new logo, new features in store for #SEC17 include Chair Yoga to stimulate your senses, the #GotGame Game Zone sponsored by Starwood to stimulate your mind, and a “Grab & Gab” Donut Wall sponsored by Crowne Plaza Gatineau Ottawa to stimulate your blood sugar!

It’s Canada’s largest gathering of sport, tourism professionals and event suppliers & event management firms. The workshops and panel discussions will feature leaders in the field in event and sport tourism, with sessions planned on sport travel, negotiating event contracts and keeping up-to-date on the latest event technology.  As well, the ‘speed dating’ SEC style brings together events rights holders/sport organizations with municipalities to get to know one another’s possibilities and find the right match!

Not to be missed this year are the social events, which offer the best opportunity to network and make new business contacts. This year features a Winterlude Hallowe’en Mash-Up – starting with outdoor snacks and beverages, sponsored by Tourisme Outaouais & ville de Gatineau followed by Ottawa’s Haunted Walk for those who dare! Next up is the Rock-n-Bowl & After-Party sponsored by Ottawa Tourism with glow-in-the-dark bowling balls.

Back for a second year in a row to emcee the PRESTIGE Awards Luncheon sponsored by Saskatoon Sports Tourism is CBC’s Road to the Olympics Games host Scott Russell as we honour the best events, people, sponsors and organization of 2016. And finally delegates can explore the many features of the 18-acre site that has rejuvenated the Bank Street area during Dine-Around Lansdowne.

If you’ve #GOTGAME, REGISTER NOW to join over 400 of your peers at The Westin Ottawa on March 19-22, 2017. Sign up before January 16, 2017 to make sure you get the Early Bird Rate.

What could be better than an ‘almost’ vacation in Ottawa next March!
