Director of Sport Systems - Freestyle Canada (FC)

Position Description

Freestyle Canada (FC) is looking for a sport management professional with extensive experience in technology and the ability to collaboratively work with multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have experience directly managing staff, in addition to being able to collect stakeholders’ feedback and transform it into various initiatives that will support FC’s Sport Systems across the country.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee, develop and support initiatives to operationalize the Strategic Plan of FC as it pertains to Sport Systems
  • Research, develop, and implement technology providing the analytics to support FC’s athletes and sport systems initiatives, alignment and operations
  • Provide leadership and support to our PTSO and Club partners in the development and delivery of programs/services, creating alignment and implementation of the strategic plan • Hire, manage and supervise staff, contracts, contractors necessary to operationalize the Sport Systems Department
  • Liaise with Sport Partners such as Canada Sport for Life, Canadian Snow Sports Association, Canadian Association of Coaches, Sport Canada, and other third parties

Skills & Abilities 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Ability to work independently and in inter-disciplinary teams
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau and Infographics
  • Experience with reporting packages, databases, and programing with demonstrated ability to conduct in depth analysis and provide well written reports
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Sport System
  • Knowledge of freestyle skiing is an asset
  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset
Qualifications
  • University degree in Sport Management, Business or Computer Science
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing technology on a national scale
Working Conditions
  • Must work from the Vancouver head office
  • Standard business hours apply with occasional weekend and evening commitments
  • Some travel is required
  • Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience
