FISU, which is widely known for staging World university games - Universiades – has taken the initiative to annually host an international forum, aimed at training young leaders in sports volunteering. The “FISU Volunteer Leaders’ Academy-2018” International Forum will be held from June 14-22, 2018 in Kazan, Russia, bringing together volunteer leaders from 170 FISU member federations.
The 7 day program of the Forum includes a comprehensive educational component as well as trainings and cultural activities. The list of speakers of the Forum will feature representatives of the International Olympic Committee, UNESCO, WADA, and the organizing committees of future Universiades.
All costs for two Canadian participants (one male and one female), including travel expenses, as well as all services (accommodation, meals, and educational program) for the period of the Forum are provided by the Organising Committee and U SPORTS.
Forum Mission and Aim
The mission of the forum is the development of the international volunteers movement as an element of investment in intercultural dialogue, international cooperation and human resource potential in staging international events in the field of university sports.
The aim of the forum is to create a permanent international cultural and educational platform for the professional training of volunteers movement leaders capable of creating and organising the work of volunteers centres for the implementation of international, national and local projects aimed at the development of university sports.
