Under the direction of the Research Manager – Human Performance, the Army Physical Performance Specialist develops specialized physical training sessions for unit selection processes based on occupational and environmental command requirements. She/he advises military command on matters relating to programming and delivery of physical fitness. She/he acts as the physical fitness Subject Matter Expert (SME) on advisory boards and selection committees. She/he prepares and conducts presentations to candidates and military command with respect to supportive physical performance programming and selection processes. The Army Physical Performance Specialist manages and delivers physical fitness sessions during selection processes.
Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Sciences or a related field AND some years of experience in a related field
Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Sciences or a related field AND several years of experience in a related field
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification
Current Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification, asset
Language requirement: Bilingual Essential
Second Official Language Proficiency
(English and French Essential)
Level: N/A(No proficiency), 1(Basic), 2(Functional), 3(Advanced), 4(Professional)
- In conducting and supervising physical fitness programs and training sessions
- In designing strength and conditioning programs
- In physical fitness evaluation of personnel
- In designing and delivering specialized fitness training sessions for selection processes
- In developing and implementing training sessions and programs based on evaluation results
- In developing and implementing policies and procedures for physical fitness evaluations, programs and training
- In developing, producing and publishing promotional materials
- In data collection and compilation of research data
- In planning and conducting presentations
- In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing

Salary: $64,390 - $75,770 per annum
Relocation: If there are no qualified local candidates, the successful internal candidate may be eligible for relocation benefits.
