Equestrian Canada is currently seeking an Interim Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization and the implementioan of its strategic plan.
The Interim Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the overall management of the day-to-day activities of the organization with consideration given to community’s needs and the long-term sustainability of the organization. The Interim Chief Executive Officer reflects the governing principles of professional leadership and ensures that Equestrian Canada is prominent in its role as the voice for equestrians in Canada by building and/or enhancing strong relationships with stakeholders and serving as the organization’s primary spokesperson. The Interim Chief Executive Officer has an in-depth understanding and empathy to the needs and operations of the equestrian industry in Canada.
The Interim Chief Executive Officer is accountable to the Board of Directors, with specific reporting lines to the President.
Five years of experience at the senior executive level, including dealing with a variety of stakeholders with diverse priorities: Boards of Directors, employees, volunteers, government, industry, and media. Experience and knowledge in the operations and intricacies of all aspects of the equestrian industry is essential, including a strong understanding of equestrian disciplines, and the equestrian economy. Experience working with or reporting to Boards of Directors, and in business and financial planning, and management. Experience in the not-for-profit environment, particularly within a sport organization, will provide a distinct advantage.
