The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) is the governing body for intercollegiate sport in Ontario. Its main focus is the development, implementation, and promotion of 16 league and tournament sports within 29 member colleges and universities throughout the province.  The administration of these activities is coordinated through a Central Office in Toronto.   Individuals with a desire to play a significant role in the effective operation of the OCAA are invited to apply for the position of:

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Reports to the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Council regarding general operations of the Association as well as the OCAA Past President regarding Human Resource issues. The position involves extensive work in managing the day-to-day business of the OCAA and Central Office.  Additional responsibilities include increasing the Association’s exposure by representing the OCAA at functions and meetings with internal and external organizations and events: Maintaining the Financial stability of the Association which includes maintenance and accountability of all financial transactions; development of long term sponsorship agreements, and effective communication of association events, policies and procedures. The executive director will also be responsible for the completion of government grant applications and associated reports, and the development of programs to enhance the Association. Supportive assistance will be provided to volunteers (sport convenors, committee members and hosts). The successful candidate will manage the OCAA’s business operations and supervise staff in the Central Office. Ultimately, this position is responsible for ensuring that the OCAA’s mandate is supported and achieved, and the activities of the Central Office continue to evolve to meet the needs of the OCAA members and student-athletes in Ontario.

The successful candidate must have exceptional communication and event management skills, be highly organized, have experience with budgeting and financial management, have a thorough knowledge of collegiate sport and have a minimum of three years of senior management experience.  Experience in a non-profit organization and working with volunteer committees is helpful. Familiarity with governance in the Ontario Colleges sector is an asset.  A diploma/degree from a post-secondary institution is required with preference to the fields of Sport Administration/Management, Business Administration and Physical Education /Kinesiology.  

The position offers a competitive salary and benefits as negotiated. Weekend and evening work as required.
