Under the supervision of the Competitions, Events & Marketing Coordinator, the incumbent will support the delivery of key Rugby Ontario initiatives, such as:

Competitions & Events

  • Preparations for and conduct of Rugby Ontario major playing event days
  • Administration of Rugby Ontario competitions
  • Preparations for the 2017 Magnificent Sevens Rugby Festival


  • Assisting with the delivery and fulfillment of contracts of existing sponsors and partners 
  • Assisting in identifying potential corporate and community partners
  • Identify grant opportunities through Rugby Ontario grant software (Grant Connect)
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of the Rugby Ontario Corporate Partnership database and the Friends of Rugby database (alumni, champions of rugby, etc.) 
  • Alumni membership development and engagement

Required Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills in establishing relationships effectively and efficiently 
  • Ability to manage projects from Research through Outcome 
  • Knowledge in sponsorship, fundraising and events 
  • Strong desire to learn 
  • Self-starter who shows initiative and independence 
  • A record of working as a team member, as well as a history of performing in situations that require self-leadership and initiative 
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines 
  • Strong work ethic  
  • Strong understanding of Ontario and Canadian rugby community is considered a valuable asset 
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel)

Currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree or diploma program in a related field during the term of the internship

Financial Support:
$100 per month to assist with travel costs

Additional Information:

This internship is based at the Rugby Ontario office, plus offsite events where relevant.
